Balt began in 1985 when the emerging printer market was in demand of high quality, multi-functional printer stands. Under the leadership and direction of Mrs. Moore, Balt soon became the nation’s leader in design and production of printer stands for major printer manufacturers. With the growth of the company, Balt became known as a respected source for innovative and dependable products which supported the computer, office furniture and educational industry. The company’s primary focus was superior customer service, high quality products, on hand inventory, and prompt drop shipment.



In 1991 Balt purchased Best-Rite Chalkboard and changed its name to Best-Rite Manufacturing, Best-Rite was patterned after Balt’s company philosophy and expanded to nation-wide distribution, broadening its product line to include an array of visual communication products for existing and new markets. Wall mounted writing boards, art display products and easels were some of the new products developed to gain a share of the office products, audio-visual, presentation, hospitality, early childhood and government markets.
